Go ahead why not

A lot of trade tak lately about the Sox aquiring Cliff Lee and or Victor Martinez. The asking price is who knows but I have heard a combination of Bucholtz, Bowden, Anderson and Lowrie. I find that Victor Martinez is an upgrade over Tek in terms of stats, Lee has a 4-7 record but a respectable ERA. Both are veterans who can make this ballclub contend in September. I have heard some other rumors out there nothing that would make me holler but I do believe some change is needed. Somoe infustion of sorts to make the opposition
tremble. Holliday, Atkins, Sullivan, these are some names bandied about and the most intriging one to me is the Garrett Atkins deal. With Lowell hurt I think Atkins would regain his form hitting in Fenway. The deadline is close to I will be watching the ticker. I do believe the Sox will pull the trigger, how big it will be is a guessing game but I think Theo has something up his sleeve

  1. I don't know if I agree that the Sox "need" to make a move, but I will say this: Victor Martinez, though a good player may not be able to catch 4 out of 5 days, he has been playing first base a lot more than catching. Billy Beane won't part with Holliday because he will then lose 2 draft picks for next year, and as far as Atkins and Lee, I think the asking price is too high with the names you mentioned. I think the answer is within the major league system itself. Lowell will be fine, and with Lowrie on the comeback trail and Nick Green taking groundballs at third, the Sox will be fine.
