First Half MVP

When thinking about the Sox' first half MVP a lot of names pop out. Wake has had an incredible all star year, leading the league with 11 wins. Penny has come up bigger than I expected and there is Becket with his nasty stuff , he has looked outstanding, almost pitching a no hitter and a couple of shut outs. Youk with his power numbers, consistency and his ability to play 1st and 3rd taking over for Lowell, Bay with his "Let's put up big numbers going into my free agency year and Jacoby Stealsbury and his running game and defense.

My vote goes to Nick Green. Sure he has blown a couple of games with his no look defense, but I will give the nod to Nick because of the fact he wasnt even supposed to have made the roster until and injury to Lowrie and the inconsistency of Lugo. Nick has even taken some balls at third and who can forget his Bucky "Bleeping" Dent home run to end it on Father's Day?

He isn't sey like Manny or Big Papi, but he has gotten my respect. He has taken over and the Sox are not desperate to give away too much with a little depth at that position. The Sox have recently signed Mr Ozzie Re-incarnate the Cuban dude who wont make anyone forget about Nomah but will be steady and solid for years to come. We havent had to give up the farm for Hanley Rameriz or break the bank with Jose Reyes. We dont have to waste or time with the likes of Yuneisky Betancourt, Yunel Escobar, Jack Wilson, JJ Hardy, Miguel Tejada or Kahil Greene. There were no serious talks in bringing in Orlando " Hide your wife." Cabrera.

All in in all he is my first half MVP. He is Mr Lunch Bucket to us Sox fans and represents hard work and determination. You need the sexy home run hitters, fireballing starters and insane relief pitchers but give me the hard working
scrappy, lift your teamnates up with your grit and desire, average Joe. Thanks Nick.
