Well so far the Sox are holding off the Home Run Happy Yankees. Half a game is better than a lot of years in the past. With a three game stint with the Bad Guys coming up at Fenway it will be a real crucial series. Jaba the Butt and Dice K going for their respective teams today set up a battle for 1st place in the East, AGAIN. Havent we seen this before? Oh well its good to be a Sox Fan.
In 2008, Boston had a half game lead after June 6th and went all the way to the 7th game. In 2007 we had half a game lead against the Yankees and went on
to win the whole thing. I am not suggesting we will win it all but it is a good sign we are leading on the anniverary of D-Day. The Yanks have a game on Monday and Peitte is going against Sonnastine. Tuesday serves up Beckett vs
(am I suspennded or not) Burnett, Wednesday has Wake vs Chin (14.46 ERA)
Wang and Thursday has Penny vs. Slobbatia. Glad the games are at home.
We have the interleague play coming up after that so a little padding in the standings would be nice. I will be there at the Fens for my very first visit and it would be nice to see us ahead of the Yankees but as they say there are alot of games to be played and thats why they play them.
